Hungary Bans Local Authorities from Raising Taxes, Introducing New Public Burdens, or Shortening Tax Breaks in 2021

The Hungarian government published a release on 3 December 2020 announcing the issuance of a decree banning local governments from raising local taxes, introducing new public burdens, or shortening tax breaks (rebates and exemptions). The ban follows recent local government plans to raises taxes to offset local budget shortfalls resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
