Officials from Belgium and Kenya met on 21 June 2021 to discuss bilateral relations, including Kenya's interest in continuing negotiations for an income tax treaty, which first began in 2014. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
