According to a release from Panama's Ministry of Economy and Finance, officials from Panama and Brazil met on 12 August 2024 to discuss the negotiation of an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
