Swiss Voters Reject Increased VAT Rate to Fund Pension Reforms

In a public referendum held 24 September 2017, Swiss voters rejected pension reforms that would have included a 0.3% increase in the standard value added tax (VAT) rate to fund retirement benefits. Without the increase, the standard rate will be reduced to 7.7% from 1 January 2018 as {News-2017-02-27/A/6-previously announced}.
