According to a release from the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, officials from Australia and Croatia met on 4 December 2023 to discuss bilateral relations, including plans to begin tax treaty negotiations in 2024. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
