According to a release from the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from Bangladesh and the Maldives met on 18 March 2021 to discuss bilateral cooperation and agreed to expedite the signing of an income tax treaty. The treaty will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be signed and ratified before entering into force.
