According to a release from the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from Ghana and Latvia met 6 February 2019 to discuss the promotion of bilateral cooperation and agreed to begin negotiations for an income and capital tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
