The Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lisbon announced by way of Notification 94/2008, published in the Official Gazette of 13 June 2008, that the first-time income tax treaty between Portugal and Israel on 26 September 2006, entered into force on 18 February 2008. The treaty generally applies from 19 March 2008 for withholding taxes and 1 January 2009 for other taxes.
