Following approval by the South African Parliament, as published in Government Gazette No. 29073 of 28 July 2006, the South African Revenue Service has announced that the first-time income tax treaty and protocol between South Africa and Brazil, signed on 8 November 2003, entered into force on 24 July 2006. The treaty generally applies from 1 January 2007.
